The Colonial Hotel and Holt Hardware in Mineral Wells, TX

This building was built in 1907 by J. T. Holt, a rancher in the area. It was located at 107-111 W. Hubbard St. J.F Holt was the President of Holt Hardware in 1909. W. C. Caldwell was the secretary, and J. E. Davidson was the manager. It was traded to Agnew and Bessie Damron in 1917 for a ranch. The building burned in 1978. This is most likely the Neal or Fitzgerald families from Altus, Oklahoma. The picture has a Young Studio imprint on the mat. Image donated by T.Fitzgerald. The Portal of Texas has a picture of the building as the Damron Hotel.

The Portal of Texas states that the building was The Colonial Hotel with Holt Hardware in the building, however the City Directory says that The Colonial was located at 113-115 W. Throckmorton with Stewart and Cummings the proprietors. I have not located a Throckmorton St. in Mineral Wells.
